In my quest for healthier alternatives to my beloved chocolate candy, I stumbled upon a TikTok recipe from @myhealthydish, My Nyugen, for making healthy Snickers. With just four simple ingredients, I had to give it a shot!
You’ll need medjool dates, peanut butter, your choice of nuts, and melted chocolate candy wafers. While the original video used whole nuts stuffed inside the dates, I decided to go with peanuts since that’s what I associate with a Snickers.
While the final product doesn’t taste exactly like a Snickers, it’s a delicious and healthier alternative that I highly recommend as a light snack for your next holiday party! I love to have fun with these and call them “reindeer poop” in my TREAT$ Boxes—“Prancer Poopies” and “Donner Doodies,” haha!

Recipe
For every 1 medjool date you’ll yield 2 snicker dates. For this recipe I use the 2lb container of Medjool Dates from Sam’s Club.
Ingredients
- 1 2lb container of Medjool Dates
- 1 cup of Peanut Butter
- 1.5 cup of crushed peanuts
- 2 bags of Bake Believe, No Sugar Added, Chocolate-Flavored Melting Wafers, 9 oz*
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet or some sort of container that can go in your freezer with parchment paper.
- Cut each Medjool Dates in half and remove the seed.
- Line the pitted and halved Medjool Dates on the baking sheet/container you lined earlier.
- Take 1.5 cups of peanuts and crush them in a food processor and set them aside in a bowl.
- Take a butter knife or small spoon and smear peanut butter on each Medjool Date half.
- Dip the peanut butter side of each date into the crushed peanuts and back onto the baking sheet/container you lined earlier.
- Melt the chocolate-flavored melting wafers using the instructions on the package.
- With a fork or toothpick dip each date in the melted down chocolate and back onto the baking sheet/container. Try to keep each date separate as they will stick together if they are pushed together.
- Once you’ve dipped all the dates and they’re lined up on the parchment paper. Put it into the freezer for at least 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes the snicker dates are ready!
- You can bag them up in a freezer bag(s) to freeze up to 3 months or you can dig in! Store them in an airtight container/freezer bag in the fridge or freezer.
Notes: Feel free to use any nuts you like, but I personally love peanuts the most. As for the chocolate melting wafers, you can choose any brand, but I prefer Bake Believe since they’re sugar, nut, and dairy-free. If you’re a fan of white chocolate, that works great too!
